Sarah Michaelson

Sarah has over 20 years of teaching experience. She began teaching at Wilcox Elementary in Springfield Illinois and later at the University of Chicago lab schools. Sarah has been privately tutoring kids ranging from Kindergarten through 8th grade for 15 years. She has received extensive training in SLANT, a multi-sensory approach for reading intervention. Her areas of specialty include: reading intervention, executive functioning, math tutoring, homework assistance, and test preparation.

Sarah received her Bachelor’s of Arts in Elementary Education at DePauw University. With a passion for learning, she later received two Master’s degrees at the University of Illinois in Springfield, Illinois in the areas of technology and curriculum and administrative.

Sarah is kept on her toes with her three children, a 13 year old and 10 year old twins! In her free time she loves to knit, travel, watch movies, exercise, play tennis, and spend time with her family and friends. She is also looking forward to becoming a dog owner to Lucy!
